Mega-Pak Limited have
been involved in Hazardous
Goods Packaging for many years, during which time we have obtained the primary distributorship for the U.K. and Ireland for packaging manufactured by Wellpappe Ansbach, Germany.

As a company we pride ourselves on being able to give advice on any matters regarding the packing and shipping of hazardous goods




UN Approved Fibreboard Cartons

The following range of UN approved cartons are an off the shelf, general use, fibreboard packaging case. Their distinctive Orange wax coated board makes them both water resistant and very durable.

The addition of a 4GV license on the cases will enable our customers to pack non-tested inner packagings in the cases safe in the knowledge that they will be meeting all of the requirements of IATA, ADR and IMDG* without additional testing costs.

Plywood Cases

UN Approved Plywood Cases (4D)

Plywood packing cases (4D’s) are a heavy duty UN licensed packing cases ideal for the transportation of heavy hazardous products such as wet and dry batteries and power cells. The plywood cases come flat packed for easy assembly and storage.

UN Approved ‘Superpacks’ (4DV)

UN4DV’s or ‘Superpacks’ as they are sometimes referred to are for use with items that have not been tested with the standard range 4D plywood cases. The only disadvantage of using these cases is the low packing weight otherwise they are ideally suited for shipping untested hazardous goods.

UN licensed plywood cases

For sending large or heavy hazardous goods, such as batteries, we recommend you use plywood packing cases. These are available from stock in a variety of sizes and packing weights. They are all UN approved for the transport of hazardous goods by air, road, rail or sea

 



Made to Measure and bespoke packaging

We also have the ability to source packaging to your exact specification if our stock items do not meet your needs. This facility is available at remarkably low cost due to our close connections with Wellpappe Ansbach and the multiple test facilities they have allied to the strong working relationship they have with OIV who are the licensing authority in Vienna. One advantage of generating a license through OIV is that there is no annual renewal fee as is applicable with some other test facilities within Europe. The annual volume needed to competitively generate a bespoke licensed pack may well surprise you and we would be happy to advise on this

Mega-Pak Limited can provide a complete labelling and documentation service for all modes of transport including Air, Sea and Road transport. We stockhold a comprehensive range of hazardous goods labels that meet the requirements of ADR and IATA as well as hazardous goods declaration forms.

Void fill – Vermiculite

Expholiated Vermiculite is Mega-Pak’s choice of absorbent and void fill material for the packing of hazardous goods. Its high absorbency and resistance to chemicals make it an excellent and safe cushioning material for the transport of dangerous goods. Please call if you wish to receive a specification sheet.
