To follow is a brief description on the types of corrugated board available
and examples of the applications they can be used for
Single Face Corrugated Board
| As well as being used for corrugated roll, Single face corrugated
can be used as an attractive way of manufacturing die-cut cartons. Companies have
put E flute single face to great use when they wish to add a different
touch to their packaging. Single face can be printed, embossed and die cut to

This example demonstrates the fact that, not only can corrugated
board be practical, but it can also be aesthetically pleasing. The corrugated
surface has been used here as a design feature. |

Single Wall Corrugated Board
|
[] |
| Single wall corrugated board is made from two sheets of paper
called liners and a corrugated inner medium called the fluting.
When the paper is constructed in this way it gives the corrugated board significantly
more strength and rigidity than thatof each component layer. This construction
forms a set of |

connected arches, which are well known for there ability to support heavy weights.
The air space between the flutes also gives a degree of insulation that gives
excellent protection against temperature variations. The fluting medium can also
be varied in thickness; from 1.1mm for E flute board up to 4.3mm for
A flute board.

cartons |
The most common form of carton is the FEFCO 0201 style which, is a normal fold
over flaps, top and bottom:
FEFCO 0201 Style Case
This style of case is the most economical style of case as it produces very
little waste and requires no tooling and origination charges (unless it is printed)
and can be produced directly from the corrugator.
Die-cut cartons are also a very popular and are manufactured using a special
die-cutting tool, which stamps the shape of the carton out of a single piece of
corrugated board. This manufacturing style ensures a higher degree of accuracy
and consistency and allows for almost any shape or style of carton to be made.
When a die-cut carton is manufactured there will be a one-off charge payable for
the tooling costs, but once paid for it can be used time and time again |

Example of a Die-Cut carton
A number of inner fittings can be manufactured by either die cutting or scoring
directly off the corrugator. These fittings can be used to hold or partition products
within a case. The following diagram shows some of the more common of fittings.
We would be happy to advise on the best fitting suitable for your product to give
it the best protection it deserves
